What Is an Arizona Statutory Agent?

A statutory agent is a person or entity registered with the Arizona Corporation Commission that accepts service of process and other legal mail on behalf of a business. (Other states refer to this as a registered agent, but they’re the same thing.) Service of process can include summonses or lawsuits, both time-sensitive documents you don’t want to lose track of, so having a reliable registered agent is important.

Why Building Ownership Matters

The fact that we own our building benefits us, which ultimately benefits you. Here’s how:

Low Cost

We’re our own landlord, so we’ll never face random rent hikes or sudden eviction. And we pass that cost savings onto you.

Stable Address

This isn’t a shady P.O. Box or a flimsy corporate address likely to change—we’re settled here in Phoenix.

Extra Mail Services

In addition to sending registered mail, we provide regular mail services like Mail Forwarding and Virtual Office.

Perfect Location

Our address—and yours when we’re your statutory agent—is in a commercial building, not a residential neighborhood.

FAQ: Arizona Statutory Agent

Am I required to have a statutory agent in Arizona?

Yes. According to AZ Rev Stat § 29-3115, all Arizona LLCs and Arizona Corporations are required to have a statutory agent. The name and address of this person or organization must be kept on record with the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC). If your agent resigns or you plan to change your statutory agent, you’ll need to update the ACC.

How do I switch my statutory agent in Arizona?

You can easily change your statutory agent in Arizona by filing a form called a Statement of Change form ($5 for LLCs, free for corporations). If you hire us as your statutory agent, we’ll file your Statement of Change for you at no extra cost!

Can I be my own statutory agent in Arizona?

Arizona state law does allow business owners to be their own statutory agents. However, the strict requirements prevent most people from taking on this responsibility themselves. For one thing, statutory agents must be physically located in Arizona and be available at their registered address during normal business hours. For another thing, if you work from home and elect to be your own statutory agent, that means your home address will be made public.

Can I use your address for my business mail?

Absolutely! You’ll receive 3 pieces of regular mail automatically with statutory agent service. If you need more than that, you can upgrade to our Mail Forwarding Service or Virtual Office Service. Both will give you a unique suite number, which will allow you to use your business address as a mailing address.
